I wish that you could take a step back and see the progress you've made in the last several years. You've stumbled a couple of times, but you determinedly kept on trying.
I'm sorry that you've had some really poor therapists. And I'm sory that their own issues worked against you. But again, you persevered. That is great. And you were aware of what was happening, that something was not right with your relationships, shows that you're finally starting to trust your intuition.
You still have a lot to work on - procrastination, getting into other people's business and being upset by that, having confidence in your sobriety. How about keeping your projects simpler and easier for now? Instead of trying to embroider a pillow, sew some buttons back on some of the clothes that are hiding at the back of your closet? Inserting yourself in other people's business is crazy-making. You already know that you can't change anybody - but I don't see you really practicing that. As for the booze - take it easy on yourself. 9 months' sobriety is a milestone. Don't worry about getting to 1 year or beyond. Keep your sights shorter, concentrate on today.
Some other stuff:
When are to going to start exercising consistently and lose some of those 30 pounds? You can't keep on buying fat clothes and growing out of them. Honestly!! If you find a way to keep comfortable while exercising, like maybe having a fan blow right on you, that would help with the sweating thing. I bet if you lose some weight you won't sweat as much anyway.
How about being more assertive in general? Like pushing for that Self Esteem board at babble? That would help lots of folks and it would be an accomplishment for you too. Keep working on that trust issue - trusting yourself. Grow on your successes, learn from your errors, and stop beating yourself up all the time. You are doing fine. You are doing better than fine.

Your progress amazes me. I see warmth and light around you. You must be in the garden again.

I like how you recognize your progress. In general that's a hard thing to do from the inside, I find. Well done!

Congratulations on all the progress you've made. It sounds like you have a really positive view on what you can realistically do for yourself right now (although I know sometimes that's not the only voice in your head.. or mine anyway).
Also, congrats on 9 months sobriety! That is absolutely wonderful. A year will be here before you know it.

Be careful. If you don't watch out you'll find yourself wanting to get back into a dance class.
This is the end of the thread.
