I had an interesting session today...
My T really did forget my name, although I know she knew who I was. That didn't bother me, though -- poor thing was in a neck brace and taking pain killers.
The pain killers, I think, are what made it so interesting...
Usually, my T will ask questions, and probe around, and try to direct me to certain areas. Today, though, she just stopped in the middle of this and said, "What I'm trying to pull you over to is..." lol Saved a heck of a lot of time, since it would have taken me a week to find my own way there. I think I'll suggest she remember that approach...

Sounds fun. :)
I once saw a psychiatric nurse practicioner who called me "Heather" even though my first name is nothing even remotely close to "Heather." Yet he did it, time and time again over the 2 years I saw him.

My T rarely addresses me by my name, even though I have specifically asked him to several times. It just somehow makes me feel more "there".
So when he does say it (and he has never gotten wrong - so far) it's like a lightening bolt.
Your poor therapist, a neck brace? That's almost medieval!

Ouch on the name, but understandable - good you didn't take it personally - what happened to her?
Yes, it would be nice if they'd just spit it out sometimes! Good she got right to the heart of it with you.
