Does anyone here believe in astrology/birth charts/remedies etc?
Back in my place, usually people with mental health issues have a weak placement of moon in their charts. And it is advised to look at moon everyday and pray to moon :-). Even when I analysed my birth chart, the astrologers usually immediately point out the weak placemennt of moon, and they immediately predict that I will have problems with my mood, and mood swings etc. (even before I tell them anything). And they advise me to say prayers to moon.
And they asked me to say prayers to some of our other Gods, and I have been doing that too.
Maybe that is a reason why I am doing well for the past 6 months. I have been praying or chanting regularly for the last 6 months, and have been out of depression.
It might sound silly, but I think belief and prayers definitely do help in mental health issues - more than I ever thought it would.
Just wanted to share. Has anyone ever tried anything similar or used prayers? I know this concept is not so much there in the west as in the east.

I'm not in to Astrology so to speak, but prayer, you bet and I agree with you. What works for me, may not work for the next person and that's a personal thing. Prayer is personal. It has given me strength when I didn't have what I needed to go on. I know I didn't pull through some of my darkest hours by myself. Prayer is powerful and I have no doubt in my mind it is a reason why you are feeling better. I need to do better at it than I do. I need to be more consistant like you are. You give me hope. Thanks for sharing this.

Hi Orchid,
My therapist does psychological astrology so I am a believer in how the sun, moon and planets effect me mentally and physically.
She never mentioned that I have a weak moon, but everything else she's said really does fit me- good or bad. Especially being critical.
I'm not much into prayer, but would like to try meditating if I can get my mind to stay in one place for longer than a few minutes. I don't gently guide my thoughts back- I yank them, so for now meditation isn't really possible.
I'm happy you found that prayer is working for you.

the only thing that ever budged my depression was Prozac. Ever. Maybe that's because my astrological chart didn't show a weak placement of the moon. I don't know, but I was crippled with horrible depression, crying every single day, terminal insomnia, no appetite, the works.
I tried every home remedy, religion, mediation, exercise, mindfulness thing there was out there and nothing touched it. I was just about to really just end it, when a physician's assistant that I saw for a sinus infection put me on prozac. In 3 weeks, food started to taste again, I could see in color again. Life opened back up for me.
I've been on it now for 5 years and it's still going strong.
God bless Prozac.
