You and your T after you win the lottery

Posted by zazenduck on April 12, 2006, at 15:26:32

I always call my occasional T my rent a friend.

So if you won the lottery say 250 million dollars and your T was willing would you hire him/her to be your friend? Say 40 hours a week plus overtime? Or is it just magic in that little room?

Or would you like to put him/her on retainer and have instant access for unlimited time?

Or alternately should I stop taking Adderall and then making posts asking silly questions???

If it's a silly question, then I'm silly too. I posted once about this because I pass a lottery billboard on my way to therapy each week. One week, I told my T if I won, I'd want to have him on my payroll (and only *my* payroll, no one else's), so I could reach him whenever and wherever. It's a comforting thought.

What would you want?

Laurie

P.S. Although I like and feel most comfortable in that little room, I think the "magic" is because of me and him, not the room.

Great minds run in the same channels!

I don't know her very well and I see her more as an unfailingly positive problem solver. She could really simplify my life if she would just DO everything instead of suggesting what I should do. She would be a companion/personal assistant more than an actual friend.

No, I wouldn't want more than the hour/week I have now with my therapist.

But I would hire Jon Stewart to be my part-time friend. I'd just have him follow me around and every now and then I'd turn to him and say, "Okay say something funny about THAT."

And then the other 20 hours of the week, I'd hire Zach Braff to do the same thing. Plus Zach could give me hair tips.

I think I would have each of get a divorse and fly away on my private jet to a private secuded island and do things with him that I need and have become my boytoy! :-) But yet I wouldn't have to pay him because he will be so happy to leave his wife because I am the only one who can give him what he wants. Then we would be happy ever after , because we are soul mates.

Aren't you sorry to asked? LOL

I actually said to my therapist once, "If I win the lottery, I'd hire you as my own personal, private therapist."

He answered very sincerely, "but I AM your own personal private therapist."

Gosh, I miss him...

I would be willing to bet that my T wouldn't be my private T even if I won the lottery and could hire him ..... I think he likes helping lots of people.... but maybe he'd be willing to put up with me more than once a week.
