I haven't seen him for a week since my last session , but I haven't seen him in the gym for over 2 weeks and that isn't normal for him. I want to call and see if he is okay, but I don't want to seem pathetic, but I do care. I just don't know if I am allowed to care. I am not like his family or anything.
I guess I will just have to wait it out. My session is in a week, this is our first session that hasn't been weekly for a long time now. I should of seen him today, and I am not, is so hard to miss him and really worry about him. I just hope he is okay.
If our T's die, does someone contact us, or do we find out in the paper? That would be horrible.

> If our T's die, does someone contact us, or do we find out in the paper? That would be horrible.Im sure he is ok, does he have serious health problems? If it is really bothering you maybe you could call his secretary and say you forget when your appointment is? Pretend you thought it was this week or something.

It would make sense to me to call and check on him and tell him your just concerned since you haven't seen him like you usually do. It's called "caring". When you see him next, talk about if he has a plan in place incase something were to ever happen to him. That way you will know without a doubt how you would be contacted etc. This has helped me in times of wonder. I'm glad I know she has a plan and that a college would contact me. No doubt, no worries for me. You need to talk about his plan, and he better have one, if not he needs one.
I'd give him a call so your mind can be relieved.
My T is all about me not having to worry about her and always tells me a phone call is so simple that she's happy to return a call to me.
Good Luck!

I guess I am just afraid to show I care about him because I am not sure if it okay with him.
But then again I did call him one time when I had monthly sessions and I hadn't seen him at all in 2 weeks, so I called to check base with him because I wasn't going to see him for 2 more weeks. But in this case it has only been one week, I just think I am being too attached right now.
I do know he is alive I saw him this morning. :-)

I'm glad you saw him and know he's ok.
I identify with you in worrying about your therapist. I know mine is under so much stress, he's travelling long distances when tired, and he's put on a lot of weight.
I do know that if anything happens to him he has arrangements for a colleague to call his clients. I'm the one who suggested that he make plans, since he's not big on planning. Well, he did anyway. I guess I ought to check up on that. His plans might have been swept away like everything else. :)
His original idea was that a family member would call, and I told him off for that one. Sheesh. What a thing to ask your loved ones to do.

All this T stuff is SO confusing???!!!!
I dunno.
Hope your T is ok.
Mebbe he's tired of going to the gym.
I think you should phone.
Who the hell cares what anyone thinks.
He should feel good that you care.
However, I'm so mixed up these days.
You are so delightful Happyflower. I'm glad your here.

Dinah,
I wouldn't like it either if a family member called. I might ask him what his plan would be. But I guess If something did happen to him, It would feel terrible anyways.
I guess I just can't help caring about him. I guess it is a good thing, but it just feels like I am attached or it is transference or something. I guess I am at the point in therapy wondering what is real and what isn't "real". It kinda stinks that I just can't let it be what it is. There are all these "rules" of our relationship and it doesn't feel natural to me when everything else does.
