RAGING tonight. After 10 years of useless prescriptions and therapy, they gave me ECT treatments last summer. Now on top of being severely depressed, I'm a nervous wreck. I called my psychiatrist for a MONTH pleading for help with the anxiety and he IGNORED all my calls. Then I finally got a meeting with him and he acknowledged making a mistake by TAKING ME FOR GRANTED. He actually SAID that!!!!!! Then he prescribed buspar after I told him that I had a bad experience with it in 99. He said we'll go slower this time. After 4 days I am RAGING. MORE depressed, anxious, nightmares. I stopped taking it today, then called and left messages for him and my therapist cancelling all appointments and telling them in no uncertain terms that they are both FOOLS. Tomorrow I see my MD and I'll ask him to dump those idiots and send me to a different psychiatrist. It's a good thing they're nowhere near me tonight. Those FOOLS. Last week when I saw the therapist I told him about something the psychiatrist told me in the waiting room. The therapist actually LAUGHED at me and said that I had a tendency to embellish the facts. So now I'm a LIAR??? What kind of therapist calls his patient a LIAR?
FOOLS INCOMPETENT FOOLS. I actually let these FOOLS do ECT on me when they DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW IT WORKS. Now I'm a depressed basketcase. FOOLS FOOLS FOOLS

I am sorry you are feeling so bad.
I agree it is time to try a different T/psych if you don't have good opinion of them.
I hope the next T/psych are better.

i don't know about your MD, but mine was willing to Rx for me. maybe if you don't have any luck OR in the mean time you can have your md Rx for you??
that sounds like you've had a horrible experience with your pdoc. it's definatly time to change.

Hi Reggie BoStar,
I hope your regular MD can work with you to find the right meds or the right pdoc. You need someone who will listen to you and pay attention to what you know about past meds experiences.

Thanks to all for your kind words of support.
To my pleasant surprise I got an appointment with a new psychiatrist for the 28th of Nov. That's pretty fast for a new patient, especially considering the holiday next week.
The psychiatrist is someone I know, too. He helped me a lot when he was on call over the weekend and during off-hours. In October he was the on-call psychiatrist for an outpatient program I was in, and he straightened out all of my prescription boondoggles while my regular psychiatrist was ignoring my phone calls.
Not only that - the new guy told my regular shrink to be sure to call me, and he too got ignored !
Good grief. Anyway, my regular MD, who is an excellent doctor (knew him since he was pre-med!) talked me down and took a bunch of blood for various things - he knows that I get a lot of peace of mind when I'm being thoroughly checked for anything wrong.
All I have to do now is get through Thanksgiving without throwing the gravy boat across the table.
