Going to T every 4 weeks now

Posted by happyflower on October 6, 2005, at 18:32:28

2 weeks to 4 weeks, can I do it? I think I can, he says he thinks I can. He says I am doing really great, and I think I am (with the exception of my marriage). Am I on the termination road? We didn't mention termination. I know I can make an appointment sooner if I need to, but I guess this a good thing, right? I shouldn't need therapy if I am doing okay, right? HMMMMMMM>

If you are comfortable with 4 weeks, then I think it is definitely good. You can always make it more frequent if you really need the help.

Maybe you should ask him about termination now, and ask what his thinking is. So that it won't be a surprise to you in case he mentions it without adequate notice.

I guess I will try it, I do feel like I need less and less therapy lately. I guess time will tell. I know that I will miss talking to him as much though, and will miss seeing his friendly smiling face. But I might get to see him once in awhile at the gym to say hi, so maybe I can survive. :)

My T has said before that I deceide when to end therapy, not him. He said he will trust me to tell him when I don't feel he is helping me much and I don't need therepy. So I don't expect him to terminate me without adequate notice. I am not too worried about that.

Happyflower,

I have a T session this afternoon and am going to suggest one a month now. I did once a week for a year, then twice a month for a year, now I'll be doing once a month.

We will do this together!

Hmmmm, I kind of feel like I'm going to be one of those people who goes from going once or twice a week, to stopping immediately without a much wind-down/termination stuff.
