silly thread

I always bring Starbucks to my sessions and on Monday I found out what my T likes (decaf + sf vanilla)... so I brought her a cup yesterday. She said I was sweet and we sipped our coffees the whole session. :)

Boy do I feel like a kindergartener who brought her teacher an apple.........

That's a very sweet gesture and so nice that you feel good about it. Sounds like the moment just WAS, and there was no need to pick it apart or find a deeper meaning in it. Just a nice thing for the two of you to share.

And not silly! :)

Take care,
spalding

that IS sweet of you, greyskyeyes (I LOVE your posting name, by the way. It's so pretty!)

Do you think it will be awkward at all in the future? I mean, do you feel like you have to keep bringing them for her, since you brought one? Or was it a one-time-only thing? Was it awkward at all bringing it to her, or did she accept it graciously?

I have to admit that I love to give gifts, but I'm bad at getting them (even though I love them). That's why this topic is so interesting to me.

Anyway, I think it's thoughtful that you did it.
Every T should be so lucky! :)

What a great gesture! JenStar brings up a good point, will you feel awkward? I might in the same situation. But as the first poster said, it does sound like a moment that happened and doesn't need further elaboration....what do you think?

Nah, no awkwardness... she mentioned that I don't have to do it every time and I said of course not, just once in a blue moon. I figured since I have a cup of coffee EVERY session (it's my security object!) it would be nice to bring her one. Plus I work (part time) at Starbucks so I get a great discount (30%). I did worry about awkwardness to begin with (like, would she even be able to accept it?) but there was none.

I guess it was kind of a way to thank her for being there for me for the last 14 months and able to put up with cancellations/ schedule changes/ emergency sessions/ tearful phone calls etc. I don't think I'm *that* difficult of a client but I do have my moments...
