Dinah?

I was wondering how you're holding up today. I know this is the first father's day without your Dad.

Did you and your T prepare for this day? (Trying to keep from getting this post redirected;)

Sending warm wishes to you.

Thanks, Aphrodite, for remembering.

It's been fine, other than a few moments of sadness. There was another family event this day that took up most of my time and attention, so I really couldn't dwell on it. Plus, since we've been married we usually celebrated father's day with my father on a different day, since my father liked to go out to eat for father's day. So there are no gross reminders.

I couldn't make it to the cemetary today, but I think I'll go next weekend.

I have a real problem holding on to people when they aren't right in front of me. It's very sad. I'm afraid I'll lose my father all over again.

My therapist never even mentioned it, and neither did I. We've been busy wrestling over the issue of emotions. And over school, which he thinks is a not so good idea.

I thought about this too today. I'm glad it wasn't really terrible. I doubt you will let go of your dad completely, Dinah. I bet he whispers in your dreams or in that secret smile mothers have when we see our sons imitating their dads and grandads.

Hugs from me,
DAisy
