Todays session went really well!

Posted by jazzed on June 18, 2005, at 11:43:57

Well, I went back to the T today, and it went REALLY well. I told him that when I left I had no intention of coming back, and that he really pissed me off. We talked a lot about that, and how sometimes it helps to get mad, and that therapy isn't always about making you feel better initially, but really getting you to examine things. He also said he was glad I did come back. I told him that I didn't like the way he was a harda** about the discipline, and that I didn't like being called irrational. He said that was just a buzzword, but he understood how it made me feel.

Then we moved on and covered a lot of stuff, mostly anxiety, frustration, and dissatisfaction. He had some really good suggestions, and some that I told him weren't good for me right now. I have an appt. to go back on the 27th. Before I left I told him that I definately see potential for the relationship, and he said he also can see where there's the potential to make an attachment - I think that's the word he used! OH NO! Not an attachment! LOL

Also, left a note for my p-doc, and he Rx'd Xanax for me. Took one, will see how it works for me. I'd taken it a long time ago and hated how it made me sleepy, but I just can't stand this anxiety that I've been having.

Thanks for all of your support. I know I'm exhasperating at times! Oh, and my p-doc did see that I was there for an appt. with the T, and he didn't bat an eye, but I guess he'll probably ask me about it next appt. Oh well. It's a woman's perogative, isn't it? I'll just tell him I'm going there to work on issues of indecisiveness!! LOL

Good for you for telling him what you thought. And good for him for understanding.

Ha ha! You may have to go through that attachment thing after all. I know not everyone likes it, but it worked for me. It's hard going at times, but in my view it's worth it when it works out well.

Hmm. Sleepy versus anxious. Yeah, I think I'd go for sleepy.

Not at all!

That made me laugh! Ah, those indecisiveness issues...

It's great that giving him a second chance worked out so well.

Jazzy, I am so glad things went well with this guy.
I hate to tell you this, but as he used the A word I feel free: we can get attached to the *most* unlikely people! And those shrinks, they have their ways...

So you're on your way.

Hi Tamar, ShortE, Happy, and Dinah,

Yeah, I"m glad I gave him a 2nd chance, and I'm glad he was so nice this time. Yeah, I can see getting attached, maybe. I don't think I want to because I don't want to get hurt. And, as someone said, this might be a good topic for discussion. But if it happens, it happens, and it'll be something to work on.

Happy, oh yes, I'm finding my hormones raging! LOL Actually, I think he was wearing the same shirt that he was wearing yesterday! That's SO HOT!!!! LMAO

As for the Xanax, took it today, very small dose .5 mg, and it made me SO sleepy! ARGH! I had to go take a nap with my son. Oh well, I'll cut them in 1/2 and see. Yep, better than anxious.

Thanks again everybody! (hugs)
Jazzy
