i've decided my T and i's song is "you can't always make it on your own" by U2.
everytime i hear that song it gives me a little hope. that i'm not as isolated and utterly and emotionally alone. that FINALLY someone is willing to stick it out, to work WITH me.
-though i wish these stupid harmful thoughts would get out of my head.anyway....anyone else?

There's a Sarah McClachlan song that makes me think of my T. It's on "Afterglow", but I don't know the name of it (and I'm too lazy to run upstairs to look at the CD). :)
But the chorus goes something like this:
You pick me up and brush me off and keep me all together.
You're the one true thing I know I can believe in.
You're all the things that I desire to save me, you complete me.
You're the one true thing I know I can believe.
Of course it sounds romantic, and I haven't up to this point had those feelings for my T. I also sometimes think of my husband when I hear this song, although not lately. sighAnd I suspect that some kind of more intense feelings for my T are just around the corner. I'm sure that going to twice a week may bring them out more.
But anyway, that's the song I think of.

It's called "Push"
Every time I look at you the world just melts away
All my troubles all my fears dissolve in your affections
You've seen me at my weakest but you take me as I am
And when I fall you offer me a softer place to landChorus:
You stay the course you hld the line you keep it all together
You're the one true thing I know I can believe in
You're all the things that I desire you save me you complete me
You're the one true thing I know I can believeI get mad so easy by you give me room to breathe
No matter what I say or do 'cause you're too good to fight about it
Even when I have to push just to see how far you'll go
You won't stoop down to battle but you never turn to goChorus
There are times I can't decide when I can't tell up from down
You make me feel less crazy when otherwise I'd drown
But you pick me up and brush me off and tell me I'm okay
Sometimes that's just what we need to get us through the dayChorus
So, it doesn't perfectly fit my hubby or my T. But it reminds me of both at different times.

I love Sarah McLachlan. Her songwriting reflects a soul that has felt pain and sorrow, and her voice is so melancholy and spiritual.
I have been listening to "Fallen" over and over again, although it doesn't remind me of my T. Rather, it reminds me more of the theraputic journey.

"Everything" - Alanis Morissette
I can be an *sshole of the grandest kind
I can withhold like it’s going out of style
I can be the moodiest baby that you've ever seen
And you've never met anyone
Who is as positive as I am sometimesI am the wisest woman you've ever met.
I am the kindest soul with whom you've connected.
I have the bravest heart that you've ever seen
And you've never met anyone
Who's as positive as I am sometimes. You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can’t relate
And you’re still hereI blame everyone else, not my own partaking
My passive-aggressiveness can be devastating
I'm terrified and mistrusting
And you’ve never met anyone as,
As closed down as I am sometimes. You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can’t relate
And you’re still hereWhat I resist, persists, and speaks louder than I know
What I resist, you love, no matter how low or high I goI'm the funniest woman that you've ever known
I am the dullest woman that you've ever known
I'm the most gorgeous woman that you've ever known
and you've never met anyone
Who is as everything as I am sometimesYou see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can’t relate
And you’re still hereAnd you’re still here
And you're still here...

I love Sarah McLachlan too.
How weird, I was just listening to Fallen and I read this post...
Sarah McLachlan, most of her songs, remind me of my journey in T.
another song which reminds of me of my T is "I'll stand by you"...I dream that she tells me that :-)
and when I want to feel connected or close to her I listen to Bach, because I know she loves it and she lent me her CD and I made a copy and she told me it's what she listens to when she needs to feel peace and quiet.
oh another song that reminds me of my T and me, is Everything, by Alanis Morissette..
"You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can’t relate
And you’re still here".but Sarah McLachlan is the one that speaks more from my heart and makes me think of the work I'm doing with my T.
love,
Frida

Hi! that's magic :-) I was just posting the above post, as I was listening to Fallen, and I happen to read annierose's post where she mentioned that song and I was sharing that "everything" reminded me of my T and me, and here you're posting the same.
That's weird :-)love,

I hadn't really thought of a song for my T in English.. I had a few in my language.. But about the only song in English that I thought of was this Sleeping Child from MLTR. Don't know if the album is even available in the US.

Yes, Fallen is a great song. And I agree about her voice and writing. She sounds like someone with a beautiful and "lived in" soul.

And here is the song lyrics.. for people who haven't heard it before.. It is so beautiful isn't it?
Sleeping Child
(Jascha Richter)The Milky Way upon the heavens
is twinkling just for you
and Mr. Moon he came by
to say goodnight to youI'll sing for you I'll sing for mother
We're praying for the world
and for the people everywhere
gonna show them all we careChorus:
Oh my sleeping child the world's so wild
but you've build your own paradise
That's one reason why I'll cover you sleeping childIf all the people around the world
they had a mind like yours
we'd have no fighting and no wars
there would be lasting peace on EarthIf all the kings and all the leaders
could see you here this way
they would hold the Earth in their arms
they would learn to watch you playChorus:
Oh my sleeping child the world's so wild
but you've build your own paradise
That's one reason why I'll cover you sleeping childI'm gonna cover my sleeping child
Keep you away from the world so wild
This is the end of the thread.
