Posted by B2chica on April 26, 2005, at 9:54:25

ok, so i'm usually not this way. at least i haven't been before. I need to say some things in session that i've been putting off. but...well gosh dang it i'll say it. i'll let the needy me come out. i really want my T to hold me. i want him to reach out and put his arms around me and hold me tight...telling me that i'm not damaged.

how did you say the things you needed to say about what happened with you.

I feel the same way about my T, I would love it if he would hold me but it won't happen physically. Maybe you should tell him this, I think it is a good sign, you must trust your T, because if you didn't you wouldn't want him to ever hold you.

I wore a big floppy hat when I told my last therapist things that were frightening to say. I think I wore sunglasses too but I can't remember. It helped to be able to hide. Maybe you could do that, or close your eyes, that works as well. Averting my face, not looking at him because he'd become too important to me, that worked somewhat as well ...

I don't normally look at t's.
Briefly when I say 'hello' in the waiting room
But not once we are in the office.
Nope.
No way.
And I even cover my face (eyes especially) with my hand when I am embarrassed about sharing something.
Well, eyes closed when I start to get embarrassed - and hand over face when I am particularly squirming.

I have never worn sunglasses to session before but once when I saw p-doc in hospital I dared go in with my shades on. I thought he would ask me to remove them - but he didn't.
:-)

And... Because I knew he couldn't see my eyes I was able to look at him and give him a big grin
:-D
He even grinned back
:-D
It was great.

But then, of course, he terminated me...
Not right then but a couple of times after.
:-(
