What did I read today that set me off?

Posted by Susan47 on November 23, 2004, at 11:44:02

Or was it the nightmares I've been having ... last night it was about my soon to be ex husband and him standing in the way of my relationship with my children. Him wanting to control that relationship. I think I hate him too, in a way.

Every day, now it's so short I don't think I could even get a perm on the smallest rods, and I want one so badly, but the only thing I can do with my hair now is wear it the way it is, which looks like a helmet. Today is going to be a day where I'm stuffing down the tears, omigod I don't understand what happened from yesterday because then I was good. I think I just have to stuff all this frustration and get on with it.

Susan, dear, it sounds like you are just being too hard on yourself. The fears that talking about ARE real- it will just take time and work to sort through them.

My father isn't my biological father, but he suffocates me like yours (except that he doesn't actually do it with love- just duty). I think both of us need to just "put" our "foot down". We're grown-ups, for G*d's sake!

(Mine is in hospital today- they don't know why his red blood cells are low- have already run all of the tests; they are just pumping him up with blood today.... I'm going to have to deal with the whole "foot down" thing after the holiday)

My ex-husband DID take my son away. Just protect yourself as best you can- that's all you can do.

Just hang in there... try to leave the hair as is for now... you may want it long enough for a stylist to shape so no one (even kids) think you "look crazy" or "incapable".

If you are frustrated and need to chat- do so. Turns out that a project that I have underway will cause me to have to work right through the holiday- from home- so I have to be online anyway... babblemail me if you want to chat.
