Today was an intense therapy session, we were working with a very intricate dream. From the discussion, I revealed to my therapist that I had put the special stuffed animal from my childhood away again. There was an accusation about this in the dream, so at 4am I went and took her out of the box.
He asked why I had put her away in the first place. I said she was too full of secrets and sad memories. And too powerful a reminder of all that right now. AND, she "allows" the youngest parts of me to really be "out," if that makes any sense. He said next time I felt the need to put her away, he would be happy to hold her for me. I pointed out that if he had her, I couldn't go get her at 4am if I needed her. He agreed, saying I'd just have to leave her out then, wouldn't I?
I think it was sweet that he was trying to protect the youngest part of me and that he offered to keep my special "friend." It made me smile.

Your therapist is absolutely wonderful. If you ever do need to leave your special friend with him, you know s/he will be in good hands.
You are in good hands.

I wish my T would mind me for me. He could just keep me in the bottom drawer of his desk. I'd be quiet. Then I could just gradually absorb his goodness through osmosis instead of actually talking to him.
