It's scary, but I'll let you all know how it goes.
Hopefully everyone will be a little wierd, I wouldn't want to be the only one!

ummm, yep, so group went ok I suppose. All the people there seemed nice enough on first impressions, although one of them was on the same course as me until this year, and although I only vaguely recognise him, it feels very awkward knowing that he probably knows many people that I know.
We just did the administrative stuff, and went over what our hopes and fears were and constructed some rules for the group. Discussion got a bit slow at times...well silent really, which made everyone a little bit uncomfortable - I suppose we've all just got to get used to it.

You are very brave. I hope it works out well for you. I read Yalom's work about groups, it was very interesting. I hope you will keep us posted about your experience.
And I've been curious...did you ever take the hook down?

No, the hook is still there - with a knee length union jack sock hanging from it! It's been a big source of amusement for my housemates and visitors - I think that they think I'm very eccentric! And yes, I'll be sure to keep you posted about group, hopefully it will be good news every week!
This is the end of the thread.
