So, what IS the treatment for Bipolar II and vascular dementia? Shouldn't there be some sort of training for me, his wife? Shouldn't there be someone I can call? Yes, I read the internet sites but putting stuff into practice and the actual words and phrases to use are not there. (My now-deceased therapist DID give me phrases to use but that was a long time ago.)
The insurance currently pays for unlimited visits to therapist at his diagnosis (he chooses to go once every two weeks) and psychiatrist I guess around once a month (I think more like every two weeks although psych asked for once a month.) I like his LMSW therapist but don't think she's quite got the tough-as-nails approach he needs.
What do I ask for? I can tell when he's getting moody and it's getting to me. It's like a cloud of doom hanging over me when he walks in the house or around me. He is often snide and tries to "analyze" me - projecting I've been told. Now I'm feeling hopeless too and I'm not even bipolar!
