female stalkers

Posted by terrics on May 11, 2004, at 21:19:04

I recently read an article on female stalkers. Females differ from males in that they almost always stalk therapists, pdocs, GPs and also other professionals. They do it because they actually believe they have a friendship or mutual love relationship with the therapist or MD. Female stalkers are much more likely to stalk same sex victims than male stalkers. Male stalkers tend to stalk old girlfriends, perfect strangers, and mere acquaintances. Any comments? terrics

Hi Fallen, I studied this because I saw a show on TV about stalking. I have also read stuff on here that to me resembles a mild form of stalking. I think that if I was not aware of how horrible this is for the stalked I could let myself stalk old T. a little. I don't though. I keep myself in complete check. It must start from obsession. I did do quiet a bit of research after I saw that show. Then of course I llike feed back from you guys. terrics

I think stalking is getting into someone's space without them wanting you there. Also, sending frequent gifts, making lots of phone calls, and watching someone from afar and 'accidentally' bumping into them or following them. terrics It is all related to obsession.

Today my T. asked me if I thought she was predatory toward me? I said no which is not the whole truth. So I guess it works both ways. terrics

Terrics I love stuff on stalkers and also on serial killers thats kind of why I asked I love that stuff ..sometimes looking at someones home or so on really isnt stalking...but sometimes it is..I saw a movie once based on a true story with Brook Sheilds and John Boy Walton dude and he was a stalker it was good and scary

Wow kinda tricky and why did she ask that do you think? I think if a person DOESNT want to be looked into and sez so it is stalking ...I dont care who sends me gifts and stuff....or knows where I live as long as no harm ya know

It is really strange that the predator thing came up in therapy Wed. I never brought up the stalking thing at all. Odd. terrics

of course you can dear. i'm clearing my throat because i was very nervous for a while about the definition of stalking. i still think that it's quite possible in the past i may have been considered a 'stalker' (oh dear!!!) though i'm not quite certain my 'advances' were unwanted. maybe i'm conceited or completely wrong, but i like to think i wouldn't be considered a stalker.

i did find out where my therapist lives, but i've since forgotten and never drove past his house. and i don't think i've ever really bugged him with phone calls or anything, as he would have certainly said so. i've called occassionally, and the conversation turned more to chit chat than that of a purpose really. but, that would be his fault more than mine, right?

perhaps i'm just paranoid? or maybe there is a reason i wonder if i would be considered a stalker? i'll never know and i'll certainly never EVER ask him if i'd be considered one.
