Hi all, I finally started DBT. The therapist is very nice and professional. I told her I might not be borderline [because I thought the dx was incorrect]. She asked me a bunch of stuff from Marsha Linehan's interpretation of the BPD criteria. I have 8 out of 9. I have fooled alot of people over time. I am so happy I am getting help. Think I will have to stop seeing old T. Think she will mess the process up. I'll miss her. terrics [I'm a little down from the changes].

I'm very interested in DBT. I'm not borderline, but I have some of the traits that DBT tries to address. I'd appreciate it if you would post about how it's going.

Thank you,

I.

With all those changes, I imagine you would be. But it sounds like a really healthy direction you're moving in, and I'm very happy for you.

I'd like to know how the DBT goes, too. In case they ever have any groups locally.

Hi Terrics. Can you tell me what her interpretation of the criteria is? I'm curious. Is it really different from others?
Thanks,
Jane

Hi, The difference is more in the wording. I cannot tell you step by step, but she uses the words;"disregulation of" alot. This helps because it does not sound like she is blaming the patient. I'll try to pay more attention to detail and then post again. terrics
