Actually, my FORMER therapist???
I've been doing a lot of dreaming lately, though I'm not sure why, other than that my anxiety level seems to have increased recently (for no apparent reason) and I'm not sleeping soundly.
Feb. 8 is the one year anniversary of my termination with my former T. sigh. And what a year it's been! Hard to believe how much has happened. I love the T I'm seeing now - she's wonderful - but I feel myself missing my former T more and more as Feb. 8 draws near. I thought of maybe writing her a letter, to let her know that I'm okay. I dunno.
Anyway, I had a dream the other night about going out with a guy and actually feeling good about it, and then discussing it with my former T, at her office. I don't think my current T was in the dream at all. I wish I could remember more.
hmmm...

ooh! ooh! I think I know what it means, pick me!!!
Ok. I think your new therapist WAS in the dream...Maybe the guy you were dating symbolizes your new therapist. In the dream you just wanted to tell your former therapist that you like your new therapist. A way of touching base.

Thanks, Joslynn!

What a great analysis. I'll have to post some of my dreams for you, Joslynn.
Penny, good luck with talking with your new T. I'm glad you like her, and that you also value the experience with your old T.
Take care,
gg

I had a dream that I had breast cancer. Now, I worry all the time that I have cancer (I know, I'm silly but I figure if I worry about things like that then I don't waste my time worrying about the things I should be worrying about..), but I never worry about breast cancer... What could that mean???? Help! I was actually tempted to call my doctor, who recently ran blood tests and see about having more tests run. I don't have any kinds of symptoms or anything...See, I'm worrying again...

hmmm, (rubbing chin) this is a tricky one.
Ok, let's see. For most of us women, our breasts symbolize our femininity or sexuality, at least part of it. Also, let's see, breasts are nurting to new life. Hmmm.
And in recent news in your life, you may be assigned to a new therapist. So that would be on your mind. And I think you had that previous discussion when Bubba assured you not to worry about your breast size.
Ok, maybe the cancer symbolizes the threat of having a new therapist. It would be like a cancer, infiltrating the therapeutic relationship with Bubba, which has put you in touch with your more sensual side, symbolized by your breasts. Losing Bubba feels to you like getting a psychological mastectomy??? Losing the comfort with your sensuality that you have recently attained???
Or, you have been reading too many cancer scare articles! :)
That will be $200 please, heh heh. No I am not really soliciting funds, it's a joke!
?? I don't know, your dream is a tough one.

It was before I knew about a possible new therapist. But, I was worried about the whole googling thing. And I'm constantly worried thatI won't be able to have children. Actually, I'm quite convinced. My sister and I (when we were about 10) decided that she would have a child for me if I couldn't have one. I worry about things a lot, don't I?

Thanks for the chuckle, JYL. I hope this means you're feeling a bit better? If not, I hope you will be soon.
Take care, dear one.
