My pdoc called with the info he said he'd give me. I was so glad that he remembered. I wonder if pdocs, therps etc. truly know the impact they have with even little things...the hurt that comes from the perceived slights & the comfot that comes from the returned calls.

So glad to hear!I think that *some* pdocs and Ts know, but obviously not all. I think the ones who have been in long-term therapy probably understand the most. I feel pretty sure that my current T knows how much her actions affect me. Of course, I've actually said to her that her approval/what she thinks of me is important to me.
Sometimes we have to spell it out for them...

So glad the pdoc called you. I think anyone who wants trust must know that the first step is doing what they say they will do. If we don't keep our word we have nothing else worth keeping. I have had times when my T. said he would call and didn't. Its very hurtful...that part I'm not sure they get. Most people in therapy have been let down way to many times in life and that is part of the reason for therapy.
This is the end of the thread.
