))>sheesh<(( i've been finding out more and more that i can trust this board better than the ???s/ answers that were answered by my last pdoc or the "patient information" handouts.
i really appreciate the genuine answers and generous intelligent information given here. Another thing i notice is how _educated_ most people here are about their medications.(It seems to me to be the way any intelligent person might respond to being asked to take a chemical(s)).How does anyone discuss this with their pdocs? Or DOES anyone? My last pdoc gave me the feeling -erhm, it seemed to me- that when i wanted to discuss what i'd learned about any meds indepth, or asked her to talk about a particular alternative, that it was UNWELCOMED, and i was met with resistance or suspicion. Especially regarding Adderall or anti-anxiety medications. Yes, i understand the possible abuser implications, but how does one raise the level of intelligence or specifics with a pdoc beyond that? Answers being "dumbed down" or not at all were frustrating for me.
i'd also be very grateful if a pdoc or practitioner would reply, from the other side of the couch, too...?
Thanx again in advance,
Escher

I haven't seen many replies from practitioners, so don't be discouraged if you don't get any. It seems to be those on this side of the couch that read and respond on these boards.
I haven't really had a problem with my pdoc on discussing things. In fact most of my med changes have been at my own suggestion. Are you having trouble with yours?
