I love the USA. I was born here. But I truly believe corruption, ignorance of the constitution and civil rights have made the country I love a living hell!

This is a pivotal time.
I was reading a review of a book by an American who was in Australia recently. I can't remember the name exactly.....
It was something like "Deer Hunting with Jesus" and he said some interesting things that I dimly recall. The first was that he was really pissed off with the middle class for abandoning the working class (I think) and the second was that he liked to visit Australia because he received so much attention from Australians and they were ALL worried that Australia was heading in the same direction. Then there's the fact that we are (to an extent) all in the same boat.
The worry about the USA is big here. The latest Sydney Writers Festival theme was "we need to talk about America" (and the director of the festival was an American).
This is the end of the thread.
