Edwards has admitted to the affair with the movie maker that he employed.
McCain admitted to having several affairs while he was married to his first wife and admitted to cheating on her with his current wife.
Who is the press beating up today?

That was Clinton's crime, wasn't it?
That he looked the American people in the eye and said 'I did not have sex with that woman'.
I assume they would have felt better had he confessed his lust and asked for their forgiveness so he could embark on his journey of healing (or whatever it is).
