Obama the fascist

How touching that suddenly certain pundits are worried about fascism. Since after all, the chief hallmark of fascism is the conjunction of sports stadiums and popular adulation:

That's the real deal, not window dressing like "enhanced methods of interrogation," militarism, and the assumption of dictatorial powers...

Hitler came to a world that was looking for a saviour, and I suppose Obama does too.

That's about it.

That reminds me of the Tom Petty song that has the line in it "you boys skeered yet?"

Does the conservative right in our country have no shame? Obama, the fascist? There is more fascism on Glenn Beck's pinky fingernail than on the entire political left in the United States. And, uh, I hope I didn't offend any Glenn Beck worshippers with that statement.

I wonder if a mood is sweeping the world?

Maybe it has spread to the USA?

I do know that satirists and political junkies here miss and cannot let go of the previous government for the qualities they possessed in spades, such as are found in black comedy and B-grade horror movies.

In Australia the centre/left is only ever elected around times of crisis....1972, 1983, 2007.
Some time after, the (what shall we call them?) conservatives (not lately they're not) blame the ALP for what they failed to prepare for when there was time.

When Rudd gave his apology to the Stolen Generation (and by extension Aboriginal Australia), there were all the PMs and ex-es (Whitlam, Fraser, Hawke, Rudd), with Gough Whitlam leaning on the shoulder of his mortal enemy Malcolm Fraser. The only one missing was John Howard.
