Above is a brief video about the future of a cashless society. It sounds science fiction, but it's already occurring with some patients for medical information downloads here in the U.S. and some people are being voluntarily used as guinea pigs in other countries.
I really don't like the idea of having a chip in me and not knowing what all the possibilities this chip may have to someone one else (esp. in light of what the first tests of the microchips tests were used). It's rather scary.

I'm no technophobe but I think it's a bad idea. Maybe it's OK for limited medical purposes for consenting adults, but I don't like the idea of its use in commerce (even voluntary) one bit. I worry that if enough people decide they want to do it for financial transactions it will become something like credit cards today - where if you don't have a piece of plastic there are extra barriers to buying plane tickets, renting cars, etc. Come to think of it, the same danger exists for medical information.
Not to mention the unknown long-term health effects of injecting these things under the skin. My understanding is that your body eventually encapsulates it so it's kind of like a cyst, and there are some concerns that this process could cause other problems. "First, do no harm," the doctors once pledged...

My dog has one already. Maybe I should ask him his thoughts on the subject?

Mine has one too and & I had no choice in the matter. I couldn't adopt him without it. Even though, I found the dog, I had to get him microchipped. I can't board him without it. If you have a Bully looking breed in certain states, you have to have one too. Next year, on the back of your Real ID, it will have a microchip and your thumb print and your eye scan. I don't know if it will have your face scanned too.
I need to post a link on some things.
This is the end of the thread.
