75 % of Americans disapprove of handling of Iraq

Posted by fayeroe on December 20, 2006, at 8:33:52

new statistics out this morning. i don't know WHERE the administration thinks they will get additional troops if they decide that is the solution to the growing civil war there. the equipment is broken down and worn out and so are a lot of the soldiers.

this isn't quite the Christmas gift i'd like. pat

Once a couple of hundred thousand extra troops would have done the trick. Now nothing will help, which of course they realise (they must?).
It is now a question of who will wear the blame (Iraqis).

The difference with Vietnam is that it took 30,000 US dead for the antiwar movement to take off, because Vietnam had a much better story.
They might get there yet but the grownups have come home, it seems.

The percantage could explain why Republicans lost in Congress, maybe Foley also had something to do with it.
