Protecting the US-Canadian border

Posted by llrrrpp on June 12, 2006, at 8:10:57

A very important issue has long been overlooked in recent discussions of border protection in North America.

The problem of migrating Canadian Geese.

These large fowl produce massive amounts of slippery poo, befouling whole sections of beaches, parklands and private property.

They conspire to target passenger airliners, and have even caused emergency landings after several suicide-terrorist geese took out jet engines. Fortunately, the attacks were not coordinated in such a fashion as to knock out all the engines at once; nevertheless, these fowl clearly function as malcontents.

They migrate south to milder climates during the winter months. In recent years, many colonies of geese have decided to remain in the USA, despite expiration of their annual visas every May. They take away jobs from American Geese, and form large squatter communities in parks where young children once played. They are not allowed to be shot at, having acquired amnesty and protection from many local city councils.

Please email or call your Senator in support of the US-Canadian Net project -- a proposal to stretch a large net accross the longest unfortified international border in the world. The net would be some thousands of miles long, and roughly half a mile high.

This project would revitalize local economies, particularly in the Great Lakes regions, where high paid manufacturing jobs are fast disappearing. Building and maintaining the Net would foster friendship between our two great nations and help rid the continent of the scourge of illegal migrant Geese.

Thank you for your kind attention

Wow! I had no idea the threat that these flying fowl presented. Where is Bill O'Reilly when you need him?

I just emailed my congresspeople about net neutrality, the death penalty, the supreme court, and a few other issues of national importance, so I'll get on it right away!

Is there any particular Committee that oversees the hanging of protective webbing? If you supply the names of committee members, I'll be happy to include them in my list.
