ok well i was diagnosised with it a few days ago, the thing is i am only 45 yrs old. now the stupid thing i have done, my so called friend about 2 mths ago turned me on 2 crack, all it took was that diagnosis to make me stop anyway my question is it needs to show up as something on an exray, could it show up as Emphysema? and not really be that? like if i go back in 6 mths when my lungs are clearer would it be ok? i am so freaked out about this whole thing right now. i envision myself dead in a few yrs suffocating to death.....
thanks for your help

overtheedge, i was diagnosed with emphysema at age 37(i am 45 now)after being hospitalized with a spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung); the doctors wanted to remove part of my lung, but ended up not; i went home still on oxygen but was able to get off it after a few months--now i use two different inhalers daily plus have an emergency inhaler
before doing crack were you a pot or tobacco user, or a second hand inhaler? even if not it is still possible to get lung diseases from environmental causes...but if it would make you feel better, ask for another test ...read this article:

i hope this helped and that you are no longer over the edge
