Hypothetically...aside from it being hard on your heart and can cause bp issues....
I have to wonder if it can eventually wear out your adrenal glands too. I am just wondering....

I worry about the long term effects of stress on our bodies. My therapist has talked about cortisol in terms of the anger that I have had trouble expressing and how it's been making my back and my head hurt - it's all very closely related.
A quick google search brought up a Wikipedia entry on the subject, which you might find of interest:

PC you understand all that? Seriously as my Mother had addison's disease and psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis killed her at age 48. Phillipa

I don't pretend to understand it all but definitely see that chronic stress can lead to real health issues. That's why I keep on preaching to others to be good to themselves. By putting up with intolerable situations we can become ill in ways that medicine is only now beginning to comprehend. I've seen in myself with these backaches and headaches - I have to take a more active role in releasing pent up anger and frustration, because my physical health is suffering as a result of not doing anything.
