this seems kind of gross and embarassing...I recently started pulling out the hairs in my armpits...it's not a big deal not having hair...as I'm a female and would shave it anyway.
I liked it when the whole root/sheath came out. I wsasn't sure exactly what it was so I looked it up online and discovered trichotillomania...but it didn'tmention armpit hair....It's slightly addicting, yet comforting. It does make me bleed sometimes...but not usually. And it makes my neck real sore.
I've also started pulling out some of my head hair..but not more than a couple a day...it's harder to get the sheath...and I CAN"T go bald!
So...I guess I just want to know if this is bad and if I really have this trichotillomania thing...

I'm not sure but it could be. Have you discussed it with your therapist or doctor? I feel you should before it possibly could get out of hand. Phillipa

Thanks Phillipa! Yeah...I should talk about it...but it started just before my last appt. and my appts. are 3 wks. apart at the moment :/
Also, especially b/c of the area, it's sort of embarassing....we'll see...

My youngest when a young child grown now cut off her hair ate it and had to have surgery to remove it as you don't digest hair I was told anyway. I can think of other areas that would be more embarrassing. Love Phillipa
