What do you think of apple cider vinegar?

Posted by Cass on July 25, 2007, at 8:24:30

I've read so many good things about apple cider vinegar. I've been using it topically as a toner (diluted) and in my bath water. A lot of people have seen great results drinking it, but I'm a little concerned. I've heard it can kill the digestive enzymes in your system. So do you have any information or experiences to share?

Thanks,
Cass

I remember reading many years ago that it had lots of amazing properties as a folk medicine... I used to have a paperback book all about but it went the way of some long forgotten yard sale, many moves ago. I only know that a diluted solution can be used as a rinse for hair to add shine.

A healing touch/massage therapist/reiki practitioner/energy worker/angel on earth once recommended I take vinegar baths. She mentioned this after talking about how blocked I was in the navel area, the seat of emotions. She said I had a lot of "sh*t" there and that it wasn't necessarily all my own. Somehow the vinegar baths were supposed to help that. I think it was also supposed to get energy flowing more, but I'm not sure.

As far as physical properties...I have no idea. It didn't smell as bad as I worried it might. :)

Apple cider vinegar is supposed to be really good for your skin and the Bragg's book on ACV recommends putting it in the bath. I think it softens skin.

I use it on my skin too! It's not a miracle (I wish I could be one of those "I tried it and it was a miracle cure" people, just for one thing)
But it's very practical, and effective.

As for it killing off your digestive enzymes, or any other negative rumours about it, I think they're kind of ridiculous, as the amount of vinegar that is recommended as a diet supplement is no more than one would consume in salad dressing, and no one says *that* will hurt you.
