Would anyone else like me to hold some water for them?
I seem to be getting quite good at it.

I'm pretty good at it myself. :( I'm ready to explode. I've been craving salty foods lately which makes no sense at all from a body needs standpoint. Clearly I've got plenty of water.
I finally broke down and used a diuretic, although most of them seem to be caffeine, and I drink plenty of that already.

I've been reading an enormously long thread about Cymbalta on the Withdrawal board, and wouldn't you know that edema crops up as a symptom. Grrr. I just happened to be tapering off of the medication and this problem appeared at the same time. Diuretics give me headaches (prob'ly the caffeine in them), and I'm trying to stay away from salt. Though the last time I went to the beach, I swear I came out of the water bigger than when I went in!!
I think this comes under the "Can't Win" category of life.

I take epsom salt baths when I start getting edema. Mine is pretty mild, so I don't know if you'd find it helpful. I tend to use a lot, and I go through it pretty quickly when I'm going through a puffy phase. I think the oil blend I use for edema has geranium, juniper, and cypress. Maybe a little fennel. I forget, though since it's been a couple of months since I made this batch.
Legs against the wall up in the air is also helpful, though not the most comfortable position.
Sorry you're suffering. :(

Great ideas! I have let the yoga slip as my mood and physical state have been in the toilet lately. (Legs up the wall is even in my book of poses!)
thx

AlfAlfa tablets are really good.
The best diuretic I've found, even compared to prescriptions, is one called "WaterShed"
not to be confused with "Watertight" a shameless cheaper not nearly as effective knock off.
Water retention is the bane of my existance. I hate it.
You can get watershed at GNC

> You can get watershed at GNCThanks, I will check this out. I have an appointment with my alternative health practioner this morning, too - he might have a wonder cure for me :-) I slept on a sofa bed last week and my back hasn't forgiven me yet.
Happy b-lated b-day, by the way. Sorry I missed the hoopla but I was busy wallowing (you know what that's like).ClearSkies

*snort*
Yup, I do know what that's like.Nothing like feeling bloated, fat, squishy (just saying how I feel with the water retention) and wallowing.
And then... reading a quote from Oprah's makeup artist saying "having a happy attitude has given him everything he wants in life"Yeah, dude, all those people in Africa, Bosnia, they just aren't projecting the right happy attitude.. it's their own fault for not getting what they want.
I wanted something very bad to happen to him.
Sorry for the rant
(low blood sugar) : )
