Since my thyroid is off so tired my anxiety is now making me tired instead of anxious or it's all internal. Also history of chronic lymes in remission. Could the switch in my thyroid since it's autoimmune cause CFS? And what are the treatments if any. Thanks Love Phillipa

Low thyroid will definitely cause fatigue along with a host of other symptoms such as dry skin, constipation, lapses in memory and so forth. I didn't have all of those but could tell I was slowing down.
The usual test is TSH - it's an inverse relationship - the higher the number, the harder the thyroid is working and the lower the thyroid output really is. Unfortunately, most labs use a cut-off of maybe around 5.5 or 6.0 which is really too high.
I've been on Synthroid for maybe 5 years now. When it comes to hormones I do not mess around with generics - my endo told me to go with the name brand and I do.
High thyroid (which would result in a very low number on TSH test) would cause anxiety and nervousness. It's always possible to be "over treated" and end up too high or too low.
I was at about 4.0 when my pcp suggested that since I had a connection w/a good endo that I should be tested. It's called a thyroid releasing hormone challenge test. They actually inject you with a bolus of it, you wait 15 or 20 minutes (go in fasting) and then they draw blood once or twice to see how you respond. That's how I found out my thyroid was "failing" - hadn't gone into full blown hypothyroidism yet but needed replacement so I'm at .75 mcgs. It's hard to find someone to run the TRH test though - it's highly specialized.
Any time there's one autoimmune disease there's always the likelihood of another one, per my understanding.
Sorry I don't know that much about Lymes but have read on other message boards about difficulty in getting it diagnosed properly and then treated properly. Is there a reason you feel Lyme is in remission?
How is your potassium? Possibility of adrenal fatigue?
Any time there's chronic fatigue a good doc should consider a number of different possibilities.
