Can eating cause anxiety?

Posted by saturn on April 10, 2007, at 19:38:14

Sometimes I think eating may cause anxiety. I can think to times when I've had to fast for medical tests and on reflection I felt rather calm. It could also be that I simultaneously cut out the caffeine...but I really think that it may be more related to food. Might anyone have any insight on this? Thanks...Peace...Saturn

Think glucose concentration in your blood. Yes, there is a link, with some people being far more sensitive to it than others.

Low blood sugar can cause anxiety. This is the result of not eating.

It could also have to do with some sort of food sensitivity. Some people may have mild allergies or other sensitivities, and fasting has the effect of avoiding those foods.

Just a thought...
