Thinking about going to WW again, more obsession

Posted by Happyflower on March 10, 2007, at 22:26:32

I have been working out for a good 1 1/2 years now regularly, it is part of my life, part of my rountine. Now I need to do something about my eating habits that are getting worse due to stress of school. (i think filled donuts make a good meal before a test) Okay I think I gained the freshman 20 lbs this year, now I need to get it all off and then some.

I was a member years ago, and did well on it, I actually feel better when I eat more healthier.
The only problems is the obsession nature of the WW program (if it is the same) counting points of everything you eat and measuring. Yikes! But I am going to my first meeting this week during spring break. Are there any babblers doing WW?

I did WW four years ago when they had the point system. I have co-workers doing it now and they have two different types of programs the person can choose --- counting or no counting.

I liked my group leader --- it's important to have a leader you feel can help.

I wish I still had the discipline to maintain that lifestyle. Maybe one day ... good luck! I agree though, the healthier I eat, the better I feel about myself.

Hi Annierose,
I went to my first meeting today and got all the starting materials. I am convinced I can really do this because I have already stuck to an exercise rountine for 1 1/2 years. I think is just what I need to get my life in order now, I am the heaviest I have ever been in my life and it sucks.
I couldn't eat all my points today but this is what I had.

cream of wheat made with milk
bannana

turkey sandwich with 2% cheddar cheese heated,
big salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, spinach, and peas, with FF sugar free raspberry vingeriate dressing

yogurt

baked chicken
couscous with tomatoes
green beans

icecream with banananas

I still have 3 more points, but I am stuffed for today. I drank all of my water too.
First day off to a good start!

That is a great start! Congratulations!! And you are doing the points ... did they have another option?

I'm jealous you have the motivation to get this started. I'm semi happy with my body - not that I don't have weight to lose - but with yoga, I'm learning acceptance. I went for an hour walk today with all the sunshine we had --- did you have sunshine today too? It was glorious.

Your menu sounded yummy too. Are you giving your children the same menu for dinner? I found my kids liked my healthier meals.

Three cheers for you! Now when you see your T, his head will do double takes as you keep losing weight each visit!

Your post made me laugh out loud! ;-) My kids like the healthier stuff too so I make it for the whole family. We all need to eat healthy even if we all
don't need to lose weight.

I miss yoga so much, they won't let me do it since my first car accident. But hopefully soon. I hardly have any range of movement in my neck right now.

WW had another option called the core plan, but I didn't like what you had to eat on it. I am not a big fan of fatfree milk products espcially cheese.

About 6 months ago, my T noticed that I had lost some weight, or maybe he noticed before that, but he brought it up. We have never talked about me being overweight, even though he talks about him being fat. He maybe has a tiny role, but I think that is cute! You really don't notice it when he has clothes on, but once I saw him doing crunches and his shirt was pulled up and I saw his belly button! heehee!
But I gained it all back when I was on seroids over xmas and then eating because I was stressed out.
I am feeling better today. This is giving me a new outlook.

How long have you been doing WW? How do you like it so far?

I've been doing WW since January 1st. I've lost 18 lbs. WW is a pretty reasonable program, although not as much fun as pigging out...

;)

Good luck!

Best,
EE
