Hey Larry,
That's a good idea. I hadn't thought of Saw Palmetto. I'm going to give it a shot to see what happens. How long does it typically take to start working?

Thanks,

I swear I noticed a change right away, but they say it might take six to eight weeks.

I'd take it for three months, and then stop and see what happens. If symptoms return, stay on it afterwards.

Best of luck with it. It almost always works.

Hey Lar,
I either forgot to ask you about dosage, or lost that info along the course of being redirected to this board.

I'm taking the Brooks Pharmacy house brand, which claims to contain 320 mg standardized "Serenoa repens" extract per softgel. The recommended dosage is two softgels per day, so the total dose is 640 mg/day. I see that Dr. Weil has recommended about half this dose for whatever reason.

Also, I haven't called my urologist yet for his opinion on this herb. Who knows what his take will be?
