Uh, anyone done one of these? Is it as horrible as it seems to be?
Seemed like a great idea when I started it, but I think I won't be leaving the house anytime soon. Yowza.

That said, some people find it all refreshing!
Well, to each his own.
I hope you have top quality TP.

Yeah, I've done that twice; other than stomach pains and running out of tp, I lost about 3 pounds each time.
I can't imagine it's bad for you though; cleaning all the toxins out of your system.
I've heard fasting is really beneficial as well ( for the whole body but especially colon and kidney's/liver).

So Larry, you don't believe in that hard vulcanised stuff that's meant to be adhered to our unhealthy colons? When I had a series of colonics I was on the lookout for it....all very interesting, but I never got to see it.

> DeclanNo, I do not. It is a routine procedure, to stick cameras up in there, ya know (endoscopy). Looking for polyps, and such. No vulcanized stuff is found. The idea that you will get extra "toxins" out of there, is absurd. I should like to hear a mechanism for *that*. Pooping is all you need to do.
That said, there are a lot of nerves up in there, and a colonic might actually be pleasant? But you have to watch what goes in there, too. The membrane is quite porous, and absorption of whatever is in the colonic fluid does occur. People have died. I doubt you'd read such in the obituary.

In the end, I did not go through the entire 21 day process. The cramps, swamp gas, and general discomfort of having to maintain proximity to a toilet really was too much for me.
I can't say that I felt any benefits from this, and indeed feel pretty foolish for having tried it. I'm happier letting my body do its own thing at its own pace. Which is messed up from taking my medications, but that's the price I pay for being able to function without crying all the time and shaking like a leaf in a breeze.
I appreciate your inputs, everyone.

> DeclanThe thing is, what is in your bowel is already outside you body. It's the residue of stuff that didn't get absorbed.
Your gut is a tube. A complicated tube, but a tube nonetheless.
The walls of your tube, the body, is separate from what is in the tube. What is in the tube is surrounded by our body, but it is outside the body.

The inside of the outside is outside the inside???
But truly, when I was having my colonics, bentonite, chlorophyll, aloe vera juice, psyllium and minerals.....I felt so empty inside (going 3 or 4 times a day). It felt great. It has its confronting aspects, I guess.
This is the end of the thread.
