I've been thinking about it lately since I don't get nearly enough vegetables in my diet.
I can't seem to find any good juicing info on the web except for a bunch of juicer advertisements.
Do you still get the benefits of eating vegetables & fruits by juicing...and are there any drawbacks to it? Is it easy to learn/do?
Might anyone be able to reference info to get started on this or can I just start throwing stuff in the blender like a madman ;)?
Thanks for any info.

In reply to anyone here juice vegetables/fruit?, posted by mike99 on April 3, 2006, at 18:06:06
yup! i don't know with absolute certainty that juicing is as good as eating the orange peel but its good. i do it all the time. Mix it all in and you get all your servings.
Go at it like a madman! the results will probably be better that way ; )

yes indeed go at it like a madman. it is great for you since you don't have to cook all the nutrients out (raw is better than cooked) and you don't have to peel things either (most of the nutrients are just under the skin so you are best off just to give everything a quick rinse - thinking carrots especially).
not too sure on a juicer / blender distinction. my friends mother got a juicer (i think very high quality blades) and she would put things in whole (because it would strain). so you didn't have to peel or core apples - just pop them through. she would put carrots through without cutting the ends off either. and raw whole beetroot (terrific antioxidant apparantly). might sound odd... but yeah it is great for you.
but be a little careful about od'ing on fruit... (i find my system needs some time to adjust or i'm off to the bathroom...)
i think you probably do want to peel oranges... but dunno if you need to...
some (only slightly crazy sounding) recepies:

some more... (mostly veges)

happy juicing
(google vegetable juice recepies if you spell it right there are a few)
