I posted this once before but dident get much feed back think it kinda blew with the wind.It might be too far a medical question and i am planning on visiting a doc soon as get a primary one now i just kinda go to a patient first one.
Anyway my ears, everday now sporadicaly i feel a werird tingle in my ears,it feels like it is inside my ears, past the point a q-tip would go,inside and behind the ear kinda.
What it is is hard to explain, its a tingle/itch kinda thing.Man i really cant exaplain other than its a weird feeling thats consisent everyday, its a very unnatural feeling.
Im afraid something might seriously be wrong,i guess ill find out when i see a doc,but has anyone heard of this??
Its not wax lol as i have decent hygiene.I had my family look to see it anything is appearent like maybe irration or something,it does go away but comes in and out and is appearent at least once or twice daily.
I still have all my cognitive features when im doing well,as i always do,so im not too concerned with it being any permanent damage but my god what is it?

My brother-in law has alot of inner ear problems, and also sinus probs since a kid, and he said that he has similiar feelings, from a doctor accidently perforating his eardrum while having his ears cleaned. i think it is a pretty thin membrane. i'm not sure if that is the case with you Will, but it's possible even with a q-tip from what i have heard. i hope the doc can enlighten you more, good luck....john

Yeah, see a doc, but you know what? In my experience, a lot of them won't have much to say about it.
First, though, it could be wax. A lot of wax can build up beyond where you can clean it with a q-tip. (You just can't clean it -- don't try to dig that thing in there...) So, get that checked and cleared out, see if htat helps.
But when I get it, it's almost invariably my sinuses. And believe me, I do get that nasty tingly itchy sort of YUCK feeling. Usually when my allergies are acting up. And usually, antihistimine will clear it up. It's worth checking into this with your doctor, once you get one.
Of course, it could also be a really horrible problem that I know nothing about, but at least you know of two other people who've experienced similar things now, right? :-)

Can a drug or intertacion cause it i wonder, thats my fear but i guess i cant get too deep into what i believe or fear is causing it.
A side note, having nothing at all to do with my situation,my father is in the process of a lawsuit that im mostly handling for him due to his primary doc on their last visit on a cleaning actualy PUNCTIONING a literal hole in his inner ear.
In a months time this went from pain to my father in the ER as his MASTROID bone was infected. This was the second time his primary doc landed him in ER first was on an interaction between his normal heart med and a anti biotic at the time.
So 2 strikes hes out,a second doc and ER confirmed this was done on the cleaning so u can imagine the ambulance chasers were happy to tak it on.
But its just strange, but has no bearing on me,i have had this issue way before and i fear something might be causing it .

Willyee fluid behind the eardrum can cause it too. See an ENT. There are a lot in VA Beach. Let me know via e-mail how it goes. Love Jan

That's called otitis media and..
Yeah, I was going to add fluid behind the eardrum -- allergenic, viral (likely if there is no fever and you're not wheezing and sneezing), or bacterial (fever usually present, more nasty.) I am (hopefully) at the end of such a similar problem, viral probably. Could hear booming sounds in a very quiet room, and earlier on nausea occurred (the inner ear is responsible for balance), but the stomach felt fine when I touched it.
Only an ENT really could diagnose these things properly, they're trained to run fiber optic scopes up the eustachian tubes and to attempt to drain things out, if that is the issue.
Very small perforations in the eardrum can heal naturally, people have had their eardrum burst or even perforate, and it will heal naturally, although antibiotics is a good suggestion. It can lead to otitis media, and while I don't practice what I preach always, one should be careful with q-tips in the ear, since you can perforate your own eardrum and shove things further in. They sell carbamide peroxide ear cleaning drops at pharmacies that foam out wax.
Hope you feel betterTidings

all good responses here, otitis media, wax, etc. my first guess would be something viral. are you having any balance issues (that would be inner ear). sounds or pain/pressue suspects outer or middle ear. a friend of mine recently went to the doctor with pain and noise issues and it turned out she had a blister on her eardrum...odd but true. it was a virus. she needed antibiotics.
definately go to the docs and let them know everything you've noticed.

I find for me, a little liquid Parnate in each ear does wonders..just kidding of course. :}Seriously, I bet it's something that will clear up with a round or two of antibiotics. Good Luck.

Otitis media.
Well, my posting was deleted but anyhow... I agree, see an ENT.
I had a similar, perhaps experience in the past two weeks, some virus or something put fluid behind the ears. An ENT would be better capable I agree of using a little fiber optic camera/instrument to go through the eustachian tube into your ears and possibly drain them if that is the issue.
Small holes in the eardrum heal by themselves... even larger ones, though that takes time. Those will cause otitis media also and need antibiotics. Though I dont always practice what I preach, be cautious with q-tips against the eardrum -- as one doctor said "oh, its a male practice" (I guess an idiosyncracy or something).. it pushes material in even if it takes it out. There are drops at the pharmacy OTC -- carbamide peroxide, that will eat the wax in the ear safely.
But if you continue to experience things, I would agree with the above. Sometimes these just go away on their own -- if its bacterial, you would eventually have fever and larger pain against the eardrum, as opposed to viral.
Hope you feel better

I had a friend that had this problem and he would scratch inside of his ears until they bled! His doctor told him when he examined him that it was a fungal infection and prescribed him some ear drops for it and it stopped it within days. Good luck!
This is the end of the thread.
