My husband saw an interview on television about how helpful DHEA is for women around my age; anyway, he bought me some and wants me to take it ( isn't forcing me but thinks it will help me).
I read some things online that kind of concern me.
Does anyone know if it's safe?
It's 50 mg per day (the dosage he bought).
Any thoughts?

You definitely should talk to your doctor before starting any DHEA supplements. The last thing you want to do is raise your DHEA-S level too high. I'd probably ask the doctor to run a DHEA-S level test to make sure it's ok to take it.
Do a google search...you'll find a ton of info. Just be aware who is giving the info. I've recently learned a lot about DHEA because my endo and I found out that my levels are borderline-could-be-an-adrenal-tumor (over 2x the normal limit). Definitely hasn't improved my mood! And mine isn't from any supplements. hahaha! If all the hype is correct, I should be the happiest/least depressed person out there. ummmmm...nope! :-P
I'd be curious to see what your doctor recommended.

Thanks for that info.
I go in for a pap and check up next week ( Too much info? ROFL) and I'll talk to him then.
Hey, are you the one who reads my blog?

Definitely TMI, but that is the correct doctor to ask. They know about hormones and DHEA is part of that. I'll be curious to see what he says.
