Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Posted by James K on March 7, 2006, at 12:19:21

Also known an ME or CFIDS. I've got it and it's bad right now. I'm angry, because I've allowed this to happen. (the relapse I mean, not the original illness). I guess after a long time of it not being so bad, I forgot what it was like. So I stopped taking care of myself. My diet, supplements, meds, sleep habits, emotional health, and sobriety. I let them all slip away because I forgot just how miserable this feeling is. My (related?) ulcerative colitis is back too. I'm just in a daze these days. I have sweats and fevers.

I know the only thing to do is - one day at a time, drink the protein shake. take a short walk. eat small meals. stay hydrated. cut back on the diet coke and beer. regular bed time. It could be days or months. Sometimes I just can't believe it. I can't believe how many years I've had this, I can't believe it will just come back when I'm not paying attention.

I'm going to go suck on a B12 now.

I'm sorry James! I'll be thinking of you. You're putting all the right behaviors in place to at least ease your sufferng, if not bring about a stop to it sooner. Take care of yourself.

And let us know how you're doing.

Hi James,
I was diagnosed with Chronic fatigue this past August, have had health probs my whole life. But, then I was diagnosed with an immune deficiency called CVID. I haven't tried supplements. They have me on immunoglobulin every three weeks, even though I have had an infection on and off for the past two months. I really gotta get my mood better, get back in the pool, work on strengthening myself, and hopefully start swimming again (bad joints and need to lose a lot of weight). I really hope you feel better, but don't place all the blame on yourself. Sometimes these illnesses just relapse because a stressful even or virus or infection sets you back into sick mode. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last summer and have never been so sick in my whole life.

I also have Epstein Barr and a debatable diagnosis of Lupus (depends on the dr.).

Anyway, you are not alone. I feel your pain. I am learning how to avoid flares and trying to exercise without being too strenous.

I am tired ALL the time, feel achy.. headaches, stomach upset, etc..

It's no fun.
