I got some of those 'walking weights' that are like squishy tubes of heavy something that you strap to your hand for walking. It really added a nice dimension to it. Kinda gave me something to do with my arms, and reminded me to swing them a little. I just tried to keep them slightly lifted, and exaggerated the swing a tiny bit.
They're only 1 lb, didn't feel like anything at all, especially on my right side, but after a long walk you've done hundreds of tiny reps with them, so I definitely started to feel something in some of my back muscles.
I was considering using regular 2 lb hand weights, but I'm glad I got the squisy comfy lighter ones instead.
This is the end of the thread.
