Why do I get oral thrush so frequently? Isn't it a little uncommon for an adult to get thrush in their mouth? Even when I looked it up online- it mostly related to infants.
It's weird! I wake up with a white, furry, sore tongue with red spots all in my mouth.
I get it about every 3 months.
Any thoughts?

Ive read you eat yoghurt a lot? Maybe it is something to do with that? I know they say it is good for it, but you never know. Do you take a lot of antibiotics? Sorry you have thrush again, it sounds yucky!

The reason I started eating so much yogurt was because of the yeast infections. LOL
And actually, since the Holiday's, I've slacked off quite a bit on the yogurt- I ate a bowl today for the first time since probably Thanksgiving.
So I don't think it's that- I had thrush before the yogurt eating... I eat to hopefully balance out my yeast.
Thanks though for responding.. :)

Are you taking any supplements to encourage beneficial flora in your system? I can only eat so much yogurt, myself.
There are some good capsules out there.
I'm presuming you test positive for thrush and respond to antiviral treatment? I have read of some dietary makeover-type meal plans for battling candida. One book suggested that once it's intrenched in our systems it's pretty resistant to medications. One doctor supposed that was a "phase" I was going through(!!) and I rather think he was right as I have been pretty good for a few year, knocking my wooden head. I really seemed to grow out of it without having done anything different, er, except get divorced. Stress, ya know.Otherwise... could you have a food allergy?

May i ask what does your dr think since you have been getting it so often? and i would think yogurt would help that because of the (sp) acidoupilous? oh so not right....lol

Hi Spriggy
You have allergies? You don't use a steroid puffer? Because that can do it.
I had candida in the gut (probably) and dealt with it by taking Nystatin and probiotics for ages. I also cut out all sugar, certain carbs, beer and wine.

I am no longer taking the ADvair. I only take an Albuterol inhalor as needed BUT I did realize that I had taken Flonaise twice last week (which I believe has steroids) so that might be the culprit.
I would love to maybe email you about how you went about your diet. I am certain I have a serious yeast imbalance and sometimes wonder if that is the route of most of my problems. I need to get very, very strict on my diet!
Also, I do have allergies- I am officially allergic to nearly everything. *sigh*

Thanks.. I just ordered it off of Amazon (along with the cook book).
I also went to health food store and bought Grapeseed extract, Acidophilus, and Aroe Vera juice.
Something is bound to rid me of this monster.

I'll add anything I can, once the info settles down a bit in my head.

Hello,
It seems I am experiencing the same thing you describe with the white coated tongue. I have suspected I have systemic yeast for years but it's hard to find a doctor that will validate this, they don't seem to believe it can cause so many problems. I have both books, "The Yeast Connection" and "The Yeast Syndrome" and I have all the symptoms they describe. I've been treated for depression for many years now with limited success, I've had all sorts of testing done on my thyroid, heart, etc. because I am very exhausted all the time (only 37 so I'm not that old yet)my hair is falling out, my mood is a chronic low-grade depression, I have a problem with abdominal bloating, and the list goes on and on. I have acidophilus capsules and garlic and capricylic acid which are all suppossed to be useful against yeast. Does anyone know how much acidophilus you need to take a day to get rid of yeast??Can it be done without Nystatin? and can you get Nystatin without a prescription? Thanks for sharing. -Stacey

>I get thrush about every 3 months like you described. I get a real yucky taste in mouth and all food has bad funky taste to it, nothing taste good at all. I use to use an inhaler and flonase too but i havent used them for almost 2 years . The only thing i can think its caused by is from having to take too many medications for too long. which is probaly resulting in too many toxins for my liver and causing unhealthy flora...do you have any suggestions on how to get rid of the constant bad taste in mouth?
This is the end of the thread.
