This is a very new problem for me. The past few days, despite popping Maalox tablets like candy -- only more frequently -- I've had terrible acid reflux. In fact, it's gotten to where I have acid bubbling into the back of my throat, into my mouth.
I have been taking Clomid, a fertility drug, which might be involved, but otherwise not much has changed. Maybe more stress? (Says the woman who has had Mom Issues all week. We bought her a new stove for Christmas, had it installed today. Meanwhile, at least six calls this week -- since TUESDAY fer cryin' out loud -- saying to cancel teh order, she can't handle the stress, etc. Yet she's moaned about needing a new stove for years, and keeps backing out at the last minute because of anxiety. ARGH! Too much screaming for me.)
Anyway, the Maalox ain't doing it. Any other suggestions for something that would help AND WOULD BE PREGNANCY CATAGORY B??? We're trying to make a baby, and I will not take any more risks than necessary. I think I can live with the reflux if I need to.
This is creating trouble for my eating disorder, as you can imagine. Who wants to eat when you hurt so much, huh?
Anything? thanks.

I use that when my occasional indigestion (usually pizza-related) doesn't respond to Tums.
It's cat B.

The only management thing that occurs to me is to try small meals/snacks every two hours. Keep a little bit of food in your stomach. Otherwise, off to the doctor. Reflux is nay good for the esophagus, and can cause significant lung injury if inhaled. Fumes alone make asthmatic response likely.
Proton pump inhibitors (e.g. Nexium) might be an option. Nexium is category B.
