Has anyone found anything that helps with this long term? Up until now, I'd just kept taking Provigil, which does counter the problem, but lately it's had too much negative effect on my mood. So, what now?
For the record, I'm trying to get pregnant, and have an eating disorder, so laxatives are not a good option. Metamucil has not helped in the past -- it's caused cramps and gas, but otherwise just creates more bulk to make me uncomfortable. As part of the ED, I drink way too much water, so it's not dehydration.
Help?

Citracil? My doctor just prescribed this over the counter fiber for me. It does not clump like metamucil, or cause bloating or cramps. And eat plenty of salads. I eat one for dinner every night. Fondly, Phillipa

Try Colace (docusate sodium). It's a stool softener available OTC. It contains no fiber and is not a laxative.
