light-headed

Posted by rainbowbrite on September 25, 2005, at 10:35:26

I know I need to go to the doctor to check this out but does anyone know what this could be.

I get dizzy all the time when I stand up, bend over etc. I am eating fine and it doesnt make it any better if I eat.

Sometimes Im not bothered by it and then othertimes it seems to flare up and its bad again.

I have lower end blood pressure but still normal.
Sometimes when I stand up I feel like Im going to faint.

Thanks

Sounds like orthostatic hypotension. Low blood pressure caused by blood pooling in the lower extremities, and then when you stand up, the blood doesn't get up to your head fast enough, and you feel dizzy.

A number of things can cause it, including different medications.

When you go to stand up, do it in stages. Sit up first, then stand slowly. Hang onto something until the dizziness passes.

Take care,

gg

Pay attention to what your body tells you and don't ignore something because it seems small. Now I have to get tons of tests done and see some specialists.
