My doctor called today about my blood work. Oddly enough, my thyroid panel is just fine (she suspects the goiter is just a virus that has settled there).
Anyway, they want me back in next week because I showed that I was positive to Epstein Barr Virus.
I don't understand the numbers, but she said it was extremely (and she said "extremely" twice) high and said it was over 2,000.
Could someone explain this to me?I have had this fever/sore throat off and on for almost a month now. Could it be from this virus?

Epstein-Barr virus causes mononucleosis. Symptoms include a sore throat that can last a long time. I had it when I was 16.
