I could post my potato soup recipe again, with lots of nice sour cream? Sounds good right now, actually.
How about my sweet and sour chicken? I serve it over rice:
Chicken, cut into chunks, rolled in cornstarch to coat
bell pepper, cut into chunks
onion, cut into chunks
big can of pineapple chunks, in unsweetened juice (or fresh, if you're ambitious...)
other things that seem like they'd be good in sweet and sour sauce...That gets stir-fried, after you mix the sauce ingredients:
2 T tomato sauce or ketchup
2 T cornstarch in 1/4 cup water
2 T pineapple juice
2 T nice vinegar or sherry
2 T sugar
pepper sauce to taste (I just use Tabasco)
throw in some pickle relish, with pimientoMix all that really well, stirfry the chicken and other stuff, add the sauce at the end, cook until thickened, throw in the pineapple chunks, and cook until heated through. I serve over rice.
Very stick to the ribs, and I like the tang.
