They are sending me to a pulmonary doctor (what are they called?) but this dr. can't see me until the third week of August.
I am using TWO types of inhalers and I am using them both about 3 times a day each.
They have me on the following:
Combivent, some new little contraption called Spiriva- you put the pill in the little thingy and crush it, then you inhale the powder.
They also have me on Flonase and now want me on Singulair as well.
I can't breathe through my nose at all- I am so congested, I cough all through the night. I have on average 2 full blown asthma attacks a day.
They ran allergy tests last week; indoor, outdoor and food but haven't given me the results yet.
Any advice on what I can do to help this?

Spriggy,
Try to calm down. Stress, which you have plenty of right now, can make asthma worse. SIT, REST, listen to beautiful music. Tell that wonderful hubby of yours you need some "down" time. Oh yes, drink plenty of water.

I have bad asthma and allergies. The medicine that has changed my life is Advair which contain 2 meds. I hardly ever use my resue inhaler at all anymore! I also have bad allergies. I take tons of meds for them too, year around. Good luck and I hope you feel better! :)

My dr. just told me this week he wants to put me on Advair. Did you notice any weight gain on it? I have read some people gain quite a bit of weight from it?
any side effects?
I would love to be able to breathe well! This summer has been awful!

No, I haven't gained any weight from it, and haven't heard of that being a side effect. Nothing in the papers say that either.
I have had no other side effects either. It is expensive though, so I hope you have a good insurance program for drugs. But it make my life a whole lot better. I have been taking it for over 2 years now. I love it, and I am a trumpet player, so I NEED to be able to breath! lol
