I am pretty sure I have the flu.
My dh has been running 102 temp, ear infection, tonsilitis, flu, etc.. I now have an ear ache (it pops when I swallow) and just generally feel like I have been run over with a Mach truck and then proceeded by a beating with a baseball bat.
Other than that, my head feels like it is 100 pounds and might explode.
My doctor can't see me until tomorrow becuase the only opening he had was the same time I have to take my kids' to their appointment (they both have this junk too).
So since I'm the "mom", I am taking care of everyone around here while I honestly feel like death is knocking at the front door (and the back and side doors).
Is there anything that I can take (legally, ha) to relieve these horrible body aches?
I'm on sudafed and ibuprofen and it is little help.

try Tylenol Cold and Sinus - it works well to open the sinuses and on a booming headache (but don't take any more Sudafed on top of it or your head will spin off your neck!).

Hi Spriggy. I am sorry you're feeling so terrible. I was sick with the flu recently. For a couple days, I felt as if I was dying, and all of my worst hypochondrial fears re-surfaced. The only thing that seemed to help me was aspirin (or Tylenol) and sleep, rest, sleep, rest. I know those first couple of days are awful. Oh, I like to drink ginger ale and munch on saltines when I'm sick. The soda is probably bad for my teeth, but the ginger ale is soothing especially if the flu affects your tummy. Is there any chance that someone can help you take care of the children so you can rest?

Rest, of course, and ginger beer is my tummy cure, I like theraflu -- puts me to sleep, which is usually good.
Otherwise, I like to squeeze a lemon, add boiling water, about two tablespoons of honey, a dash of nutmeg -- and, if I can, a shot of brandy. I swear it helps a lot! Even without the brandy. (The brandy does tend to help me, though -- helps relax the muscles so that my coughing is more productive. Overshare, but it does help. Plus, of course, it helps put me to sleep...)
Sorry you're illin', feel better soon.
This is the end of the thread.
